About Me

I'm Tabitha Irvin, a college student and blossoming activist. In November of 2023, after struggling with mental health concerns, I was admitted to an inpatient psychiatric ward. It was there that I met and developed a deep personal connection with Darla. After leaving the unit and embarking on a journey of recovery, I continued to remember Darla and her story. Armed with nothing but a journal, I began recording and recounting our time together: what I taught her and what she taught me. It was then that I realized the power of her story. This blog is a product of that reflection.
